Competitive Tryout for Phoenix Wright Empty Re: Competitive Tryout for Phoenix Wright

Post  BadPlaya Tue Jan 19, 2010 6:08 pm

Basics

Name: Phoenix Wright
Age: 33
Gender: Male
Job: Defense Attorney
(Is this a test or something?)

Appearance

Eyes: Dark Brown/Black
Hair: Black porcupine-hair
Body Type: Lean
Mannerisms/Gestures: Easily excited; points, shouts, and slams desks when excited
Clothing and apparel: Blue suit, red tie. Never caught dead without his attorney’s badge.
Other appearance: Boxers and plain T-shirt for bed. Cheap T-shirt and pants for casual stuff. (I’m not into fashion at all. I read a Dial L for Loser book once (don’t ask; I was VERY bored) and any descriptions of mine will probably be as minimal as those descriptions are excessive. It would basically be, “He was wearing a [color] shirt, [color] pants, and sneakers.” Maybe a few fancy things depending, but nothing like “A forest green American Eagle polo shirt with frayed edges and [several other needless details about his shirt that take up about this amount of room].” ...which works, because if things are anything still like the game, Phoenix won’t have the money for brand names and stuff Razz)

Personality

Fears: Getting a guilty man declared innocent, getting an innocent man declared guilty, losing his friends, the bench in the defense lobby
Wants: The right verdict for his clients, the status quo, to be a good defense attorney and help people when they have no one on their side
Likes: His friends, his job, Trucy
Dislikes: Being forced by Maya and Pearl and Trucy and Larry and everyone to spend all his money, people who lie about being not/guilty, imposters and poisoners
Goals: To raise and take care of Trucy, to get Gavin exposed (unless that whole thing has already happened), to do his job well :3
Flaws: Depending on how you see it, he’s simple, single-minded, and believes in people to the very end (which can be admirable sometimes, but allows people to take advantage of him other times) not paid very much...
Secrets: Has a Magatama that lets him see and break Psyche-Locks; is trying to get the legal system changed to expose Gavin (again, unless that’s already happened)
Personality in general: Simple, once he’s decided on doing something he does it, believes in people to the end no matter what (although the magatama helps), can be a bit more secretive and behind-the-scenes when he needs to be

History

A summary of your character's canonical past: Became a defense attorney 9 years ago. Accused of forging evidence and adopted Trucy 6 years ago. Has run a successful law office.
What has happened in the retconned timeline: Has continued taking cases, while raising Trucy and helping home-school Pearl (I checked the Pearl try-out). Has kept in contact with most (if not all) of his friends. Nothing that drastically affects him right now (on the surface). (I’m leaving room for some flashback trial or plot twist, I suppose xD)
Information about character's family: Adopted Trucy Gramarye, who is currently 14 years old. No other technical family, but has a wide network of acquaintances and very close friends.
Best thing to ever happen to your character: Grade School Trial (meeting Edgey and Larry, deciding to become an attorney), State v. Gramarye (Getting Trucy), and State v. Edgeworth (resolving his relationship with Edgey) (all 3 were pretty great)
Worst thing to ever happen to your character: Grade School Trial (being all alone), State v. Gramarye (being accused of foring evidence), and State v. Engarde (having to defend Engarde, and Maya’s kidnapping) (all 3 were pretty bad)

Other

I’m just going to do a wall o’ text for this part about pairings. First off: I don’t ship any (regarding Phoenix, at least Razz). The whole purpose of this place is to have fun, so if whoever does Maya or Iris or Vera or Godot or Shoe or whoever would have a lot of fun by having a relation with Phoenix, then I’m fine with it. I really don’t have anyone in mind, and would lean more towards a heterosexual than a homosexual relationship, but considering Phoenix is one of the main main characters and one of the big things people like in fandoms is pairings, I don’t want to declare anything now that might shut out possibilities later.

Passwords

...what exactly goes here? I’m not supposed to just post a password in public, am I?

About me
What is your name/nickname? – Bad Player
How often are you online? – Every day (I can be)
About how often do you respond to your roleplays? – Usually when I’m bored, I will do a once-over on Court Record (and can also check this), and make small replies. Big replies get put on hold until I have more free time, but I will have time to think about them and plan them out until them, and I get a chance to do big replies at least once a day. (And only having one opportunity is rare.)
Are you already a user of this site? – Placeholder account “Bad Player” has been made but not activated
Do you have previous experience roleplaying or writing for this character? (if possible, link) – Minimal RP experience (none of it on CR). I did make a trial in a retconned timeline similar to this one. It is on AAO; it is called Silence of the Turnabout, and it is the first trial listed in the “Play!” tab. (I also wrote both trials and a good portion of the second investigation in Turnabout Substitution, although Phoenix has a minimal role and it is the canon timeline; it is still an example of my work, albeit not in Phoenix’s persona.)
Questions? Comments? Concerns? Statements? –
Is pufferfish your favorite fish?
I think you should be a little more clear with “Passwords,” since the only thing I can guess doesn’t make sense, as publicly posting them defeats their purpose, and I don’t know why we need 3.
I hope I don’t not get it :S

The passwords are in the rules stickies. A little way to make sure that people are reading. o3o They should stick out pretty nicely.

....OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH

I read the rules, I really did! I just didn't get what those were... (It took me about 10 minutes of staring at the rules to figure it out just now ^^')

1. Pufferfish (that's why I had that comment about pufferfish! It's evidence I read the rules!)
2. Pig
3. Pineapple
(Maybe you should use only "word" or only "password" so it's a teensy bit more clear...)

Basics

Name: Phoenix Wright
Age: 33
Gender: Male
Job: Defense Attorney

Appearance

Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black, "naturally" spiked backwards. (So says court-records.net. If Daryan's hairstyle is any clue, methinks Lawyerland has laws of physics that differ from our own.)
Body Type: Trim, though certainly not scrawny. Typical body build for a typical middle-aged man.
Mannerisms/Gestures: Desk slamming, finger-pointing, yelling, fooling with his hair.
Clothing and apparel: In court, a cheap, blue suit with a red-sometimes-pink tie. He's not particularly classy. Outside of court, he wears whatever is comfortable; sweatpants, tee-shirts, even open-toed shoes are common.
Other appearance: A determined expression. ;D

Personality

Fears: Average things like heights, thunderstorms. Death of a loved one and the jailing of an innocent man, on a more serious note.
Wants: Truth and peace.
Likes: Cleaning the toilet. He still has a penchant for plays and poetry, though he no longer pursues it as a hobby as much as before. Classic rock.
Dislikes: Loud noises, the usual stressful things. Oldbag and people similar to her. Mia's heavy law books. Excitement tires him out.
Goals: Possibly incited by the trial where his mentor, Mia, defended him for a crime he didn't commit, he has a deep-seated desire to defend those who cannot defend themselves. This doesn't always have to be in court, however, because he has also done quite a bit of saving Maya.
Flaws: Incredibly easy read, to his occasional embarrassment. Sometimes jumps the gun. Somewhat cynical, frequently sarcastic.
Secrets: Secretly, he wonders if he's the only sane one here.
Personality in general: Phoenix is not one for excitement, outside of court. However, his conviction when it comes to defending the innocent is a force to be reckon with. He wears his heart on his sleeve and somewhat easily flustered. While at first he may seem unreliable and almost lazy, at heart, Phoenix will do anything to achieve his goal, once he has his mind set on it.

He has mellowed out in his "old age", like most, and his ability to stand as a father figure to both Trucy and Pearl has become even more apparent.

History

A summary of your character's canonical past: Hooo, boy. Let's begin.

Nothing spectacular happened to Phoenix before his girlfriend Dahlia (or "Dollie") was convicted for the murder of some guy she called Dougie. Seriously, he falls under almost-nameless victims, just like Goodman. After being saved from an untimely death by whom was later to become his mentor, he changed his major from art/acting to law. Shortly after he passed the bar, his mentor was murdered and he was left to find her killer. Along the way, he met Maya Fey and proved her innocent of the first of many crimes she would be framed for. After all was said and done, he took over Mia Fey's law firm along with Maya. Maybe a few months later, he faced off in court against his long-lost childhood friend, Miles Edgeworth.

Several objections and desk slams later, he wound up defending Edgeworth in court for the murder of some guy named Hammond. Why is it that in all the important cases, we never hear from the victim?! D< Phoenix succeeded, only to later be left to angst for an entire game, when Edgeworth faked suicide.
Regardless, Phoenix continually solved (though not necessarily won) cases, turning them on their head at the last minute. That has always been the constant and became a trademark of sorts.
What has happened in the retconned timeline: From the backstory, we learn that Phoenix still presents the false evidence given to him by Kristoph. However, he is not disbarred and continues lawyerin'.
Information about character's family: Never disclosed, though it is a common theory of anonymous that he was raised by a lesbian couple.
Best thing to ever happen to your character: Learning that the truth is the most important thing? 8D;;
Worst thing to ever happen to your character: Having to decide over saving Maya's life or exposing the truth.

Other

Sexual orientation: I like my Feenie medium-gay, hold the fries. :B
Single or taken?: I ship Narumitsu, but we'll see.
Is your character in love?: Again, let's see. ;D
If so, is that love requited?: Above.

Passwords

1: Pufferfish
2: Pig
3: Pineapple

-------

What is your name/nickname? - Leeeez. Not "les", just Liz is fine.
How often are you online? - Every night, until I'm dragged off. Though I sometimes stay after school for art class.
About how often do you respond to your roleplays? - I cannot promise anything on the weekdays, but I'll be preeetty active on the weekends.
Are you already a user of this site? - No, ma'am.
If yes, which characters do you play? - There was no yes involved.
Do you have previous experience roleplaying or writing for this character? (if possible, link) - UHM, DOES PORN FOR THE MEME COUNT?
Questions? Comments? Concerns? Statements? - I think that just about covers it.

I do hope I used the right form. P: I think so, anyway. I apologize for the profile fail, I'm usually pretty uncreative with character sheets.

All right, guys. Your apps were both seriously awesome, so I wound up randomizing a number, and that number was '1'. Since Dysfunct is the closest, I'm going to accept her app.

BadPlaya, your app rocked my world. I'm really sorry I couldn't pick you both. D; I'd really love to see you apply for another character, because your applying skills are mad awesome.
